Delta Omicron Zeta is a coeducational fraternity of diverse student leaders.

The fraternity fosters the personal growth of our members though the observation and practice of leadership. To do this, we create the time and space in our chapter meetings and events to cultivate self-reflection and inspire relationship building.

While many fraternity and sorority programs encourage leadership development as a means to an end, leadership is the focus of our fraternity, not a byproduct.

DOZ Active and Journeyman programming challenges USC’s top student leaders to refine their perspectives, strengths, and leadership strategies by understanding how their own tactics relate to those of others. At one week’s Journeyman meeting, we may be tasked to accomplish a goal while faced with real life handicaps such as a lack of resources, unmotivated followers, and time constraints. The next week we may discuss solutions to issues we face in other organizations, growing from the guidance of other experienced leaders. No matter what the activity, DOZ meetings and events test and build leadership potential identified during the rush process.

More than a network of outstanding students, DOZ is a family.

The fraternity not only provides new partners and mentors for future ventures, but also a support system that understands the responsibilities, difficulties, and delights of being a leader. Through our interview process and collaborative projects, all members come to know each other, and begin relationships based on respect. These ties lead to friendships, amplified by our social get-togethers, which become the basis for lifelong companionships.

The outstanding people and rigorous but supportive environment that characterize Delta Omicron Zeta inspire all initiates to lead better and live better themselves.

So what exactly do we do?

Check out the Ambassador, our bi-annual newsletter detailing all of our events!

Journeyman Semester

The foundation of DOZ is the Journeyman or “pledge” semester, in which Journeymen participate in weekly meetings and outside leadership challenge events to test their leadership strategies in real situations. They then assess their responses and the actions of their peers, encouraging each person to review his or her own decision-making process and improve upon it.

Luminary Program

Continuing the development established in the Journeyman semester, active members engage in chapter meetings that focus on the Luminary Program, which examines leadership through many lenses. We continue to explore leadership beyond these meetings at retreats, speaker programs, and leadership forums.

Social Events

We really just can’t get enough of each other. Beyond personal and group enrichment activities, DOZ hosts many fun social events for our members, including tailgates, potlucks, and formals.

Philanthropy

DOZ boasts leaders who like to loosen up and have a good time, but can also be focused and take tough action in leadership. A proponent of service learning, DOZ partakes in philanthropy, our ultimate goal to give back to our local and world communities.
