The focus of Delta Omicron Zeta is to foster mutual advancement and encourage leadership growth in each of our members. The fraternity works to create distinctive opportunities for professional and personal development, including speaker events with world-renowned leadership gurus such as Dr. Warren Bennis and respected government officials such as LA Councilwoman Jan Perry. Additionally, we hold retreats, leadership forums, and inter- fraternity competitions to engage our members– although many find the greatest source of enrichment and inspiration is the other members of the DOZ family. |
Our ultimate goal in leadership is to use what we’ve learned to impact the world around us. Each semester, our Journeymen partner with local and national philanthropies to help them raise funds. Recent partnerships include the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and Typhoon Ondoy relief in the Philippines. Our actives participate in Relay for Life and Dance Marathon, working to raise money for cancer patients and research. And our contributions extend to Teach for America, Helenes, Women and Youth Supporting Each Other, the Emergency Medical Services of USC, the Joint Educational Project, and many, many, other community-building organizations at USC. Demonstrating enthusiastic participation and active leadership in such service groups, DOZers prioritize giving back to their community. Our philanthropy program is constantly growing, along with our fraternity. If you would like to be a part of it, check out our Rush page! |
The best leaders definitely know how to have a good time. From our Invites, to our Senior Banquet, to our mixers, to our pot lucks, to our karaoke nights, to our Holiday get-togethers, and many more, we ensure that our members are not only well-versed in leadership theories and practices but in building and maintaining strong relationships with each other as well. Being a member in DOZ means so much more than just being an individual in a “leadership club;” you’re a crucial part of an ever-growing family of leaders who lead together and play together. |
