What is rush?
Rush is a two-week period that allows for you to learn about Delta Omicron Zeta, and for active members to learn about you. There are professional events, such as our Informational Night, that give prospective members a look into what we do as a fraternity, and there are social events, such as our Barbecue, that allow us to simply get to know each other.
After formal interviews, the entire fraternity reviews its applicants and bids are distributed. Then, the pledge process begins.

What is pledging?
How much of a time commitment is pledging Delta Omicron Zeta?
There is no doubt that your Journeyman semester will be one of your busiest yet, especially for the involved student leader that embarks on the DOZ journey. Each week you will have one Journeyman meeting on Tuesday night and generally one other leadership or social event, such as a speaker program, holiday party, or volunteer project. DOZ Journeymen must also complete a series of interviews with active members as well as contribute to his or her group’s Journeyman Project, which often materializes as a campus wide event or program.
DOZ actively recruits the busiest student leaders who can contribute to the conversation and apply what they learn. However, we expect Journeymen to make DOZ a top priority, especially their first semester. Those who successfully
complete the Journeyman semester will have participated in a learning experience unlike anything else offered at USC. As with any experience, you get what you put in to the experience. The rush process gives you an opportunity to show actives that you are willing to move DOZ to the top of your list, while still maintaining participation in other groups and maintaining academic performance.
