What is rush?
Rush is a two-week period that allows for you to learn about Delta Omicron Zeta, and for active members to learn about you. There are professional events, such as our Informational Night, that give prospective members a look into what we do as a fraternity, and there are social events, such as our Barbecue, that allow us to simply get to know each other.
After formal interviews, the entire fraternity reviews its applicants and bids are distributed. Then, the pledge process begins.

What is pledging?
Pledging is our 9-week Journeyman program designed to model the challenges a student leader may face. Our Journeyman curriculum offers as much as you put into it; it is rigorous, but extremely rewarding.
How much of a time commitment is pledging Delta Omicron Zeta?
While it is difficult to determine an exact amount of time, we suggest this commitment is on par with a two-unit class. You will have one meeting and generally one Journeyman activity per week, as well as various Journeyman projects through the semester. To complement the work, we offer access to exclusive special events, such as invites and a members-only speaker series.
All of our active members wondered how in the world they would fit pledging into their schedules, but leaders make time, and we all figured it out. While events and meetings are designed for busy leaders, expect DOZ to be a priority your Journeyman semester. Those who complete the Journeyman process will have participated in a learning experience unlike anything else offered at USC.
